Dont be an impulse buyer

According to Wikipedia, an impulse purchase or impulse buying  is an unplanned decision to buy a product or service.
Excessive advertising on television and magazines and on the internet has greatly affected our consumption behaviors thereby making us buy something buy something we don’t particularly need or to consider the impact of the purchase, and this most time have negative consequences. Impulse purchase is related to anxiety and depression, and taking charge of your purchase power could help increase your psychological well being.
To tackle impulse buying from a physiological view we must ask our self, what motivates you to impulsively buy products that we don’t particularly need or can afford presently, is it anxiety, depression, social class complex or just to own  the latest  stuff in town.
This inevitable urge to buy impulsively most times brings remorse, paradoxically bringing unhappiness, the same felling the impulse buyer wanted to stop experiencing.
So here are few suggestion to curb impulse buying.

1.       Create a month list.
Take a stand for a whole month that you can’t buy any other thing apart form necessities, put up a reminder at your fridge door, bathroom door or any other place that catches your eye to help you keep to your plan.
2.       Stays off the malls, at least till you get you impulse buying under control.
Malls are huge and stock up a lot of good, and the tendency to impulse buy at malls is greater than just visiting you local shops around the corner, and always write down a list of wan you want to buy.
3. Dont go to online retail sites.
Just like the mall they stock up a lot of goods, with pictures and before you realize it you’re clicking on checkout button
4. Take a deep breath.
Any time the urge arises, calm it down by deep breathing, self mentoring, walking around and drinking water can help control the urge
5. Keep the end in mind.
Its useful to have clear goals in mind at all times, do you have financial goals that you trying to accomplish, keep your savings goal in mind, and know when you about to make a purchase and how it will affect your goal and finances.
So there you go folks start spending wisely. There is a saying that goes like this, if you spend money buying stuff you want soon you’ll be selling them to get stuff you need.
